Thread Size for Turbo Oil Feed?

I'm looking to make my own oil feed line and I'm not sure of the thread size that is needed for either end. I'm going to be running it off my oil filter housing and using an MHI turbo, I believe they are all the same size fitting.

Also, would it be wise to eliminate the banjo fitting for better flow or should it be left to help reduce pressure to the turbo and help keep the oil pressure up in the engine? Thanks

Gotta tell us what turbo you got first, as it's kinda different for some of them.

For my feed using a Garrett it goes like this: Filter Housing= 3/8 NPT to - 4AN fitting -------------------- -4 A/N to 1/8 NPT. Your using a mistu turbo so just try searching around for what size their oil inlets are.

By MHI, I was refering to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. That being 14B, 16G, 18G, 20G ect.

turbo side is metric M12x1.25. Let me know what you come up with for the turbo side, i couldnt find any adapters to go from metric to -4an or metric to NPT, so i ended up buying an OEM banjo fitting and adapting from there.

Thanks for the information, and I did establish that the fitting at the turbo is M12X1.25. I found a banjo fitting that may work it is m12X1.25 but it connest directly to a -6AN hose. Would there be any problem with using a reducer to bump the hose down to -4an? Or even getting an adapter and running a -6an line to the oil filter housing, or would that take to much pressure away from the engine? Thanks for all the input.

Mike

Going from -4AN to -6AN seems like it would reduce the pressure, which would be a bad idea. Not sure about going -6AN all the way.

6an is a HUGE no no. I cannot stress that enough.

This is why I wanted to know exactly what turbo you have. Some vendors swear up a down a 4an line is the only way to go for one turbo, while others say do not go bigger than 3an for the same damn thing. So, what MHI do you have?

It is an EvoIII, but I was trying to keep it general being as they are the same throughout their different turbos and people wouldn't question whether or not theirs is the same or not.

If the flow where restricted down through a -6an line would that still cause problems, or the other possible option of using an adapter about an inch off the turbo?

I would just buy a feed line from one of the many vendors, they're only $50 bucks after all and there is none of this hassle.

If your afraid of hassle sell your car. I take pride in the work that I do to my car, I make what is possible and install everything. If I make it I know it is exactly what I want. So keep it on topic please.

Thats fine, but so far you don't have exactly what you want, but RRE and every other vendor DOES. I was just trying to help, you don't have to be an uppity bi*** about it.
